The 30th Birthday of Morgentau®: The story behind the tea

Thirty years ago our former Tea Taster, Friedrich Rapp, had the idea of developing a new tea creation. A supplier from India had sent him a box of fresh, delicious mangos. The fruit that in the meantime has become very popular in Germany was relatively unknown and considered as exotic three decades ago. After several tastings and improvements, Friedrich Rapp finally created the flavoured green tea Morgentau® as it is known today. This stunning and now internationally renowned tea creation has made as significant impact on the consumption of green tea in Germany. The original recipe is still a well-guarded secret that is only shared among Tea Tasters. There have been many attempts to copy Morgentau®, but this tea has been unrivalled until now.

Get to know your favorite tea all over again!

Morgentau & mango ice tea
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons of Morgentau®
  • 4 tablespoons mango juice
  • 500 ml of 90 ° C hot water
  • Ice cubes
  • Mango cubes for serving
Preparation:

Step 1: Brew Morgentau® with 500 ml of 90 °C hot water brew and then steep for 2-3 minutes.

Step 2: Distribute ice cubes into 2 heat-resistant glasses, and fill them with the tea you have brewed. Top up with the mango juice.

Step 3: Finally, place the mango cubes to the glasses for decoration and serve!
Morgentau smoothie
Ingredients:
  • 250 ml Ronnefeldt Morgentau®
  • 50 g leaf spinach
  • ½ cucumber
  • ½ mango
  • An apple (optional)
Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare tea and allow it to cool.

Step 2: Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix together.

Step 3: Serve in two glasses and enjoy!
